Show Rules for Big Red Buckle Series

 

The Big Red Buckle Series is a point chase of ABGA Sanctioned shows within the state of Nebraska.  The shows will be decided upon by September 1st of the previous year.  All shows that are part of the Big Red Buckle Series must follow the American Boer Goats Association Sanctioned Show Rules.

 

To be eligible for the buckle you must attend 10 shows in that Calander year.

 

Shows that make up the 2024 Big Red Buckle Series are:

Boers Break Hibernation

April 13-14 North Platte

 

Boers on the Loup

May 4-5 St. Paul

 

MPC’s Red White & Black Bash

June 29-30 St. Paul

 

Midwest Producers Classic

August 9-11 Beatrice NE

 

Platte Valley Boer-Nanza**

October 3-6

 

The Platte Valley Boer-Nanza will have all shows on Friday count for that current year’s standings.  Any shows held AFTER Friday will be a bonus for the 2025 standings.  Missing the Sunday shows will not count against the 2025 standings.

 

 

Before checking in the exhibitor will need to ensure that all animals are entered into the showman.app and bring an ABGA recognized form of animal identification with them to check in.

 

Class breakdown for percentage does, fullblood does, and bucks will follow that as outlined by the ABGA show rules.

 

All shows that are part of the Big Red Buckle series will have the same class structure for commercial does:

 

Junior Division will be goats under a year and will by broken by weights.  The weigh ins will be conducted on site by the show manager or a designated person appointed by the show manager.  There could be a weigh back after the show in which a 5% margin is allowed. The weight breaks are as follows:

0 – 45 pounds

46 – 65 pounds

66 – 85 pounds

86 – 105 pounds

106 +

 

The Yearling Division will be broken into two age ranges 12 – 18 months and 18 – 24 months

 

The Senior Division will be one class of does 24 months and older.

 

After each Division the top 2 from each class will come back for a division drive and the top 2 selected from each division will come back for an overall and reserve overall.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Points awarded for Big Red Buckle Series as follows:

 

Class Win

1st Place – 4 Points

2nd Place – 3 Points

3rd Place – 2 Points

Rest of Class 1 – Point

 

Division Points

Division Grand – 3 Points

Reserve Division Grand – 2 Points

 

Overall Points

Overall Grand Champion – 4 Points

Reserve Overall Champion – 3 Points

 

In the event of a tie

First Tie Breaker:  Would be which exhibitor or farm has shown in the most shows.

Ex.  2 exhibitor or farm have the same number of points, one exhibitor or farm was shown in 7 shows and the 2nd exhibitor or farm was shown in 6 shows.  The tie breaker would go to the exhibitor or farm who has shown in 7 shows.

2nd Tie Breaker:  Would be to the exhibitor or farm with the most Division Wins.  A Division Grand Champion would beat a Division Reserve Champion.

3rd Tie Breaker:  Would be to the exhibitor or farm with the most Overall Wins.  An Overall Grand Champion would beat an Overall Reserve Champion.

 

 

 

 

 

Results and standing will be maintained on the showman.app website under the show series tab.  The show managers will attempt to monitor the standings and update as needed however if you observe an issue or have questions reach out to a Big Red Buckle Series member ASAP.

When signing up to show under the showman.app we recommend using one farm or exhibitors name in order to keep all points earned under one name.
